look! a place to keep our underwear!

when jim and i packed up and moved to chicago we left a lot of furniture behind in new york.

we're slowly starting to collect pieces of things we love and in the meantime, we're just sort of going without some stuff.

it's not so bad... we slept on air mattresses until we bought a new bed, we fought over the comfy chair until we bought a couch (jim always let me win) and until last week, we were throwing whatever clothes that couldn't be hung in the closest in heaps on the floor of our little office.

but! we finally found a dresser.

behold...

...i've named her Maude.

she's vintage. she's blue. her drawers pull out all smooth and stuff.

maude = one sexy biatch.

now we just need to um...actually put away some clothes.

DON'T RUSH ME, PEOPLE.

i already have my wedding dress...

...and the seamstress has already come to my apartment for a fitting and taken the dress away for alterations. so that's a done deal.

but if i didn't have a dress yet, i would want this one.

because it's so fun.

(dress can be found here.)

i need to buy this for someone i know...

what is this gorgeous creature, you ask? he's called The Reaper and he can be yours for just $250!

seems a little pricey? what if i told you it's worth a lot because it's made with freakin' HUMAN BONES???

i speak the truth. here is The Reaper's description (as posted on Etsy):

The Reaper is an incredibly unique doll and work of art. Reaper's head is a real cat skull, one of the amulets hanging from a jeweled strand around the neck of this creature features a real bat skull and most bizarre are the long, thin "wings" sprouting from Reaper's back - these are actual HUMAN RIBS.

i just sort of love that we live in a world where this kind of stuff is for sale on the Internet, don't you?

springing forward

good morning! did you remember to change your clocks last night? i forgot to change mine, so when i woke up this morning and looked over at our alarm clock, i thought, "ugh, i slept till 11!"

and then i sat up and looked at the cable box and thought, "shit! i slept till noon!"

speaking of clocks, i found this adorably scuffed and well-loved alarm clock on etsy.

the seller wants $65 for this clock which i think is insane so it's sadly sitting in my favorites folder. i'm going to keep my eyes peeled for its twin on my next thrift store shopping spree though. i think it would look so cute as a decoration on my bookshelf. god i love old crap.
