jim turned the big 3-0 on saturday. (yes, he is a halloween baby). and because 30 is such a big birthday (and because jim totally rocks) his family and I planned an extra special surprise celebration.
on saturday afternoon, jim and i ventured out into the world. i told him that i had a special birthday present on hold for him at the Barnes and Noble on the upper west side so we had to go pick it up. when we walked into the shop, we spotted jim's sister browsing a section of books. we went to say hello and then jim spotted his dad...and then his aunt...and then his mom...then his cousin. jim had no idea that all these people were coming to NYC to see him!
jim described it as the "best easter egg hunt ever."

That is such a cute idea. I could only imagine the excitement of finding more family members as your went through the story. Seriously, you're adorable.
That is an AWESOME way to surprise someone. Kudos for the unraveling surprise...it sounds very difficult to accomplish.
