all i do is eat

i took some customers out to dinner last night and half way through the appetizer i had to ask, "have you guys ever been to a Friendly's?"

i'm not really sure how to describe the wonder of Friendly's to someone who's never experienced the magic. let's just say they make an adorable thing called a conehead sundae that looks like this...

you can't see 'em, but there's a hidden supply of reese pieces at the bottom of the dish. (don't you wish there were reese pieces hidden at the bottom of more things in life?)

anyway! not to embarrass myself by telling another story about how i dragged my boyfriend to yet another chain restaurant while we were in virginia, but um, i totally begged to go to Friendly's last weekend. also i demanded my OWN sundae. (i am not good about sharing my desserts.)

i was happy.

although the conehead sundae is hard to resist, i ordered the reese peanut butter cup sundae. friendly's has the best peanut butter sauce topping i have ever tasted.

these pics are blurry because i was bouncing up and down with glee.

jim did not bounce...

...but i think he was pretty thrilled with his fudge brownie sundae.

when we were all done...

...i was really sad.

Also, I poured a twice-melted Easter-leftover chocolate bunny into my sundae.

Bunny melted in the car, re-hardened in the hotel fridge and then melted in the car again :(

I LOVE the conehead sundae. I used to get it with butter crunch ice cream, which was delicious but sort of made the clown look like he had the measles.

i just stumbled upon your blog - ice cream at friendly's is pretty much my childhood. i spent many years in richmond, va as a kid and it was a regular pit stop for us. :) your post brought back many happy memories.

OMG remember we used to go there all the time in high school? Well there and Chili's :) I think I used to get their vanilla fro yo, but then a side of pb and a side of chocolate, because you know, fro yo is "healthy" hahahah.
